I’m Vicky, the dyer and dreamer behind Hot Magenta Yarn Company. My journey into yarn dyeing wasn’t just creative, it was survival. After years of navigating depression, anxiety, and now, perimenopause, I needed something that helped me reconnect with joy and rebuild my sense of self. Color became my way back.

Raised between the green forests of British Columbia, the bold beaches of Puerto Vallarta, and the blazing skies of Arizona, with soul-shaping stops in Colorado and New Mexico, I carry landscapes in my bones and pour them into every skein.

Hot Magenta is more than a yarn company. It’s a rebellion against perfectionism, a celebration of mistakes, and a reminder that healing and creating often go hand in hand. I dye for the misfits, the makers, and the quiet warriors, those who use craft as a way to process, connect, and play.
